Nashville Bail Fund

The Nashville Community Bail Fund frees low-income persons from jail, connects with their loved ones, and works to end wealth-based detention through community partnerships.


Gideon's Army

Dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline -- Gideon’s Army is a community-based, grassroots organization that uses restorative justice programs to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline through social activism by children, families, and the community. Their programs address school-push-out, youth violence, policing, and juvenile justice.


Black Lives Matter Nashville

Black Lives Matter Nashville is a local chapter that is part of the Black Lives Matter Network. The Black Lives Matter Network is a chapter-based national organization working for the validity of Black liberation movement. #BlackLivesMatter is working for a world where Black lives are no longer systematically and intentionally targeted for demise.


The Equity Alliance

The Equity Alliance proactively advocates for African Americans and other communities of color to have a fair and just opportunity at realizing the American dream. We are a Nashville-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization that seeks to equip citizens with tools and strategies to engage in the civic process and empower them to take action on issues affecting their daily lives. 


No Exceptions Prison Collective

No Exceptions Prison Collective is a grassroots initiative in Nashville, TN, dedicated to transforming the social segregation of prison by advocating that no exceptions be made to the abolition of slavery. We were founded and are led by individuals directly impacted by carceral slavery – both insiders (prisoners) and free world folx.


Nashville People's Budget Coalition

The Nashville People’s Budget Coalition is building a Nashville where public safety includes communities with fully funded education, access to housing and health care, and freedom from policing and jails. To make this future real, we are raising public awareness about the Metro Nashville city budget process and organizing community members to create a people’s budget that invests in the wellbeing, health, and freedom of every community member. Our coalition encompasses organizations fighting for fair wages and safe, dignified workplaces, divestment from policing and jails, investment in restorative practices, and access to housing and transportation. We know that Nashville can be a city where every community member has access to the tools and resources they need to thrive if we are committed to investing public dollars into social goods and divesting from social control.


ACLU of Tennessee

The American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee (ACLU-TN) is freedom’s watchdog, challenging government abuse of rights and fighting for fairness in our laws and their enforcement. We are dedicated to translating the guarantees of the Bill of Rights into reality for all Tennesseans, moving our state forward as we work to protect and promote justice and equality.


Free Hearts

Free Hearts is an organization led by formerly incarcerated women that provides support, education, and advocacy to families impacted by incarceration, with the ultimate goals of reuniting families and keeping families together.


Southerns on New Ground

SONG is a home for LGBTQ liberation across all lines of race, class, abilities, age, culture, gender, and sexuality in the South. We build, sustain, and connect a southern regional base of LBGTQ people in order to transform the region.

Showing Up for Racial Justice Nashville is a chapter of SURJ, a national network of groups and individuals organizing white people for racial justice.  


Choosing Justice Initiative

CJI provides criminal defense representation through court appointments to people in Nashville who seek their services and offers civil legal and social services for clients who need and want them. CJI’s goal is to spread the word in Nashville about the benefits and potential of Restorative Justice, which replaces the adversarial court process with a collaborative community-based approach, and to pursue it as an option for people involved with the criminal legal system who want that.
