A lot of Nashville’s best ideas started with a woman who decided to just go for it. The result? Incredible cafés, bars, shops, venues, and creative spaces across the city. We highlighted a few women-owned businesses we love, but there are plenty more worth discovering.

Cafe Babu

Founded by Shivani Darsinos, Cafe Babu blends Indian and Greek café traditions into one of Nashville’s most charming coffee spots. Expect masala chai, Greek cappuccinos, and beautifully crafted pastries in a cozy, design-forward space that feels equal parts neighborhood hangout and global café escape. Killjoy

Killjoy is Nashville's first NA bottle shop and mecca for the sober-curious. Founder Stephanie Styll has cultivated a supportive environment for those questioning their relationship with alcohol, offering a multitude of NA beers, wines, spirits, as well as Adaptogens and THC drinks. They throw the BEST tastings/events too!

Owner Chelsea Moubarak curates her warehouse to showcase brand-new furniture, home décor, and the occasional vintage gem at discounted prices. Kelli Dirks Photo & Hayseed Photo Studio

Kelli Dirks has been sharing her keen eye with Nashville for years. More recently, she opened Hayseed Photo Studio, a private, creative space for Nashville storytellers. Founded by Nashville entrepreneur Marcie Allen Van Mol and her husband, Anzie Blue doubles as a music venue and neighborhood bar built around live performance and creative community. Led by chef Julia Jaksic, Cafe Roze blends breezy café energy with a globally inspired menu. Otaku Ramen started with chef Sarah Gavigan obsessing over ramen in Japan and deciding Nashville deserved the real deal. Now it’s one of the city’s go-to spots for rich tonkotsu broth, chewy noodles, and late-night slurping. Pull up for pork belly buns, spicy miso ramen, and the kind of bowl that fixes almost any day.

Originally, a mobile catering business started by two besties, Bariangela Segovia and Maliyah Bass, brings Thai-inspired ice cream rolls to the farmers' market. With super fun flavors like Cake By the Pound, Monster Attack, and Coco Fever, ice cream can be a year-round treat!

Thistle Farms is a social enterprise of women who have survived prostitution, trafficking, and addiction. Founded by Becca Stevens, Thistle Farms houses the bath and body care company, Thistle Stop Café, and paper and sewing studios. Proceeds support Thistle Farms and the residential program, Magdalene. The community provides housing, food, healthcare, therapy, and education, without charging residents or receiving government funding.
